Lost in Internet Limbo

I lost this blog.  Seriously.  For over a year I have looked for records where this site was hiding.  I had decided to start a new blog and did a Google search for blog software and Blogger was listed #1.  I clicked on their "Get a free blog" link and I opened up logged into my blog.  This was because I was logged onto Google at the time.

Found it.  Time to update and begin posting again.  And to send links to family and friends.

Get to work!

Two weeks ago (Sept. 6, 2010) I drove to Silverton to investigate a mining claim for sale. The claim is located at 10,700 to 11,300 feet. Part is above timberline and part below. This shot shows the outcropping of granite that covers the side of the mountain. I found various seams of quartz with clear and milky bands ten to twelve inches thick running through the quartz in lines one hundred or more feet across these exposed veins.
I was able to collect a five gallon bucket of great looking gold ore which I will have analyzed soon. I stayed onsite for two days and investigated the surrounding claims and abandoned shafts. Next visit will be with a Gold Bug II on my arm.
And a 9 mm on my belt. The bear scat was ever present and the berries were in abundant supply.
Fore armed is forewarned.
Lee painted this mural in West Grand Junction of himself painting a mural of his wife painting a landscape. Typical of Bowerman's work he twists reality to his perception. I love the shadow of the ladder painted into the painting. Lee gets better all the time.

Hard to look at. Easier to endure if I don't have to look at it. That has been my experience with pain.
.
Also I have learned. Get it over quickly. Toothache? Pull it. Broken bone? Set it. Toenail? Jerk it off.
.
Then it begins healing.
.
It is Friday all over again. Rolling right along. Days into weeks into months. Bruises, scrapes and contusions heal and we get moments of perfect bliss. I wish it could be bottled for those moments when the toes are torn or the heart is hurt.
.
Seems that only time heals those wounds.
.
Waiting. Moment by moment.
.
Healing. Bit by bit. Day by day. From this experience called living. Till at last I will be healed.

Rocketing through space. All of us. On a living breathing behemoth of summer heat and winter chill. All of us on one small rock in the galactic swamplands. Just north of the galactic backwater. Where we produce graven images of outmoded things. Fragments of our fathers past.

The above photo was from my cell phone. In fact they are all from my cell phone. The screen on my Nokia broke and I have to order a new one online. For $20.36 shipping free I can get the screen. Pop the case, pull, click, plug and reassemble for a restored camera.
.
Or order a new one with digital enhancement HD video up to 2 hours and higher storage capacity.
.
Onward Consumption Warriors! Marching towards the end! And here I am, a blast from the past. Living off the scraps of the land. With the help of a friend. Able to take the time to enjoy this ride into our brave new future.
.
Guess which was ordered?
